Sing

Act Audition

Here at Stage Presence, singers feel confident and safe no matter what challenges they may encounter. Our goal is to instill self-worth and confidence while also building sound vocal and acting techniques for any performance climate. We want students to feel valued as they experience auditions and casting, no matter the result. We evolve with kindness, stand for equality, and challenge our students and staff to be the change they want to see. Here at Stage Presence we strive to provide performance opportunities, community through ensemble work, and regular student showcases.

01

Melodic & Rhythmic Development, Vocal Technique Exercises, and Proper Vocal Care.

We create a realistic musical foundation at any level and focus on fundamentally understanding the music itself and the technique behind each song. Students should be able to understand what they are singing audibly, visually, and while singing.

02

Vowel shapes, Alignment, Posture, and Breathing.

These are the core four for excellent technique when it comes to singing. We focus on each as we work through warmups and songs until they are seamless in our student’s performance pieces.

03

Auditions, Callbacks, Casting, and Performing.

We have high standards for performance in our studio. It is important students are emotionally engaged, speak and sing with intention, and bring their pieces to life. We create space where they have successful auditions, callbacks, casting, and performances. We coach students on how to overcome set backs and persevere through casting challenges. It is within our performance training that we focus on acting. The only path to growth is to have stage time so our team works hard to provide quarterly showcases.

Learn

Practice

Perform

Stage Presence also offers instrument lessons to students of all ages! We currently offer music theory, piano, guitar, drum set, saxophone, clarinet, and flute lessons.

No matter where you are on your musical journey, we can help you grow as a musician. Our goal is to get our students playing songs as soon as possible, because that is what playing music is about!

04

Songs, Tunes, and Repertoire.

As a musician, the most important is to be able to play music. Nothing is better for a musician’s confidence and development than to have a robust repertoire of songs to play and perform. Our philosophy is to get students playing songs from the beginning. Learning songs will strengthen your understanding of musical form, as well as strengthen your technique on your instrument.

05

Music Literacy, Theory, and Fundamentals

Music is a language, and understanding the “in’s and out’s” of this language will give you a huge advantage! At Stage Presence, we focus on both the aural and written components of music. We place a strong emphasis on learning how to read pitch and rhythm. We also work on developing our ear with guided listening and ear-training. Additionally, students will spend time understanding musical form so they can have a better understanding of how music is put together.

06

Learn, Practice, and Perform.

A major part of learning an instrument is mastering the art of practicing. At Stage Presence, we believe learning how to practice and work on music is of paramount importance. Our goal is provide students with clear and effective systems for practicing their music, that way students can get the most out of their time in lessons and their time at home. We use a three-part concept we refer to as “learn, practice, and perform”, which refers to three major areas of musical development. First, we learn a piece of music, then we practice, then we perform. Following this progressive system will set students up for the best chance of success!

Learning and Practicing mean nothing without the opportunity to PERFORM! And here at Stage Presence, we are dedicated to providing our students with opportunities to shine with our Student Showcases and Seasonal Performances!
