GUITAR TEACHER:

Director – Something Rotten! (Youth Musical Theater Production)

Stage Presence is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic Director to lead our upcoming youth production of Something Rotten! We are a vocal studio and youth musical theater company committed to high-quality training, strong storytelling, and a supportive rehearsal environment.

About the Role
The Director will lead the overall artistic vision of the production, direct all acting scenes, and collaborate closely with the Music Director, Choreographer, and Production Team. We work on a compressed rehearsal schedule and value directors who can work efficiently while maintaining a positive, organized rehearsal room.

Schedule
Rehearsals take place Wednesdays through Fridays, April through May, from 5:00 to 8:30 PM. Rehearsals include dedicated blocks for staging, vocal directing, and choreography. Tech rehearsals and performances take place during the final week of May.

Location:
San Jose, CA (No remote option)

Compensation:
Director pay range: $30 to $40 per hour, based on experience
College student pay range: $18.40 to $25 per hour, based on experience

Qualifications:
Previous experience directing musical theater (youth or educational theater preferred)
Strong comedic timing and ensemble storytelling skills
Clear communication and collaborative working style
Reliable, organized rehearsal leadership
Degree in Theater, Music, Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent professional experience considered

Private Guitar Teacher (Virtual or in San Jose, CA)

Stage Presence is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable Guitar Teacher to provide private guitar instruction. We are a vocal studio and youth music company committed to high-quality instruction, strong student relationships, and a supportive, professional teaching environment.

About the Role
The Guitar Teacher will teach one-on-one private guitar lessons to two currently enrolled students. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with young musicians and can teach both foundational skills and advanced guitar concepts through individualized instruction.

Schedule
Lessons are conducted virtually and scheduled in Pacific Standard Time. Lesson days and times will be coordinated with the studio team based on student availability.

Location:
San Jose, CA or Remote

Compensation:
Pay range: $30–$40 per hour, based on experience
College student pay range: $18.40–$25 per hour, based on experience

Qualifications:
Experience teaching private guitar lessons required
Ability to teach advanced guitar concepts, including jazz harmony, improvisation, advanced technique, and music theory
Jazz education or strong jazz background preferred
Strong command of guitar technique, music reading, and theory
Ability to work with beginner through advanced students
Clear communication and reliable scheduling
Music or jazz performance degree preferred; equivalent professional experience considered
